Today I did the 72 hour test on the frame and it was oddly satisfying to bang up and scratch my frame with other volcanic rocks.

I am pleased with how resilient the frame is. It really showed me it’s worthy to hold art for the gallery. I am honored that Float On wants my art on their walls, so I want to make sure the package holds up. And any buyers will bring my best work home.
In this process I’ve also reflected that frames are pieces of art themselves. I am so amazed by how many gorgeous frames are in this world, from skilled hand carving to perfect metal angles, to wood spun with fine lathing tools, the world of frames is endless and rich in tradition. I am reimagining frames for this project, but I know someone’s love went into them before I ever got them.
