October sixth

She who sighs heavily
In the back of the elevator
Wood paneled backdrop to her
Smokey eyes and dark silk hair

She turns her chin up to the lights
And his eyes aren’t focused
On the buttons by the door
But buttons he counts, mouths silently

She who sighs heavily
In the back of the elevator
Is his muse, works long hours
Cries when she can’t break through

They are one, the creator
The inspiration, turning each other
Round and round till dizziness
Overwhelms and they’re spent
