Some other god

I never wrote about the thunder
Last week when the aquifers filled
And the high stalks of hollyhocks
Grew ever tall, the sunflowers towered

Awoke today to grey clouds
The song this evening was the rain
We felt honored with all the life
Cry hard enough to create clouds

Seeing eyes in the mirror
Hand above my head, mundane task
Involuntary instruction to flash back
Over a year ago when the thunder

Created under a different god
Rumbled the mountain and lifted
Roots, women from the beds
They slept in and shattered windows.
